Svanehøj to supply pumps for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has received an order from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding to supply fuel pump systems for 15 new build dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7000 TEU).

The 30 deepwell gasoline pumps will be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders so far. It can also be the second LNG gas pump techniques order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has placed with Svanehøj within the last yr. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to supply deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell fuel pumps in 2021, and says there are many indications that sales could enhance even additional in 2022.
“Until a number of years ago, the usage of LNG as a marine gasoline was limited to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we at the second are seeing a sharp increase in fuel pump orders for deep sea vessels such as container ships and automotive carriers,” stated Johnny Houmann, chief gross sales officer at Svanehøj. “We have been chosen as the supplier of gasoline pump systems for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we purpose to extend our market share further within the coming years.”
