The 30 deepwell fuel pumps might be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders to date. It can be the second LNG gasoline pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has placed with Svanehøj within the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled gross sales of its patented deepwell fuel pumps in 2021, and says there are numerous indications that gross sales might increase even further in 2022.
“Until a couple of years ago, the usage of LNG as a marine gas was restricted to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a sharp increase in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels similar to container ships and car carriers,” said Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the supplier of fuel pump methods for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we aim to extend our market share additional in the coming years.”
