Ai-Da, a highly skilled artist and robot, has exhibited her creations on the Venice Biennale and discussed the future of creative industries on the House of Lords. She can talk, answer advanced queries, paint, and create artwork, which is now on show at the London Design Biennale. Ai-Da utilises advanced AI technology to provide designs of on a daily basis items like cutlery and pots using a 3D printer. However, her work is imperfect, with spoons containing holes and cups lacking sides, rendering them nonfunctional.
The creators of Ai-Da aimed to spark a conversation about whether or not we will actually belief AI know-how to behave as expected, given the fast pace of its growth. Aidan Meller, who conceived the Ai-Da robot in Oxford, is unsure about our capacity to control AI’s trajectory. He informed Sky News, “AI is transferring so shortly.”
Meller is concerned in regards to the domino effect of the technological changes we are making at present, as we have no idea how they’ll impact society and the environment. Underground believes that without conducting tests and trials earlier than releasing AI to the general public, we face critical moral issues. Meller urges warning and reflection, stating, “Just because we can do it doesn’t imply we should do it.”
