The police issued an announcement addressing a viral video of an intense confrontation at a petrol station, in which a hot-headed younger man and his father have been apprehended. The incident occurred on Sunday in Prachinburi province, Thailand, and involved the father of the young man making an attempt to impede police through the arrest. The youth was charged with two offences, whereas the father was charged with obstructing legislation enforcement and property injury.
The video, shared on the ‘Jae Moy V+’ page, depicts a number of police officers arresting a motorcyclist at a petrol station in Si Maha Phot district. The incident took place on Sunday at round 9.15am. The police, led by Sub Lt. Samhak Boonprakrong, Deputy Chief of Si Maha Phot Police Station, had been knowledgeable about an unregistered motorbike with loud exhaust and modifications resembling racing vehicles being driven on public roads.
When officers tried to stop the car for inspection on the Kok Khwang intersection, the motorcyclist refused to cease and as an alternative entered the PTT petrol station in Kok Khwang. The police then adopted and requested the biker, recognized as Suwit, to stop for inspection. Suwit was driving a white and pink Yamaha motorcycle with no registration plate. Well respected was revealed that Suwit was using his father’s bike to refuel before going on a trip.
During the police’s automobile inspection and document verification, a man named Nawa, driving one other motorcycle, arrived with a girl driving pillion. Nawa introduced himself as Suwit’s father and angrily questioned the police, alleging that they were solely concentrating on his son’s car and not others, reported Khaosod.
Nawa then challenged the police to apprehend all different visitors violators and refused to cooperate in the course of the inspection. Sub Lt. Somkarn tried to clarify that the police had been apprehending each violator, without exception. However, Nawa instructed his son to drive away, claiming documents regarding the motorcycle have been at home. Sub Lt. Somkarn objected because the inspection was not but full and seized his motorcycle key to prevent him from fleeing.
This led to a heated confrontation, with Nawa pushing Sub Lt. Samhak, resulting in the officer’s personal mobile phone and pill falling and being broken. A scuffle ensued, with Nawa bodily resisting arrest. He was finally apprehended and charged with “resisting or obstructing a regulation enforcement officer and inflicting property harm.”
